A&E Bringing Psycho Prequel

Norman Bates, the disturbed young man at the heart of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 classic Psycho, will be headed to televisions sometime in 2013 for Bates Motel, a prequel series from writer Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights, Bionic Woman) and Carlton Cuse (Lost, The Adventures of Briscoe County Jr) . The show will be brought to you by cable channel A&E, who ordered 10 episodes. Bates Motel will explore his relationship with his mother and what led to him becoming a killer. According to the press release from A&E, “Viewers will have access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn first-hand how Norma helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all.”

First Episode of the Community’s Doctor Who spoof, Inspector Spacetime

Here is the first official clip from the Inspector Spacetime web series. Due to legal reasons, they have to call it “Untitled Web Series About a Space Traveler Who Can Also Travel Through Time”. For those that do not know Inspector Spacetime is a favorite show of Abed Nadir (portrayed by Danny Pudi)  on the NBC sitcom Community. The web series stars Travis Richey, is directed by Vince Talenti and was written by Travis Richey and Eric Loya. Richey has appeared on the series Pretty Little Liars and the Syfy original movie Dinocroc Vs Supergator.

SyFy’s Arachnoquake Ratings Success

Saturday’s debut of “Arachnoquake” drew 1.8 million total viewers and scored even better among adults age 25-54, with 731,000 of those tuning in, according to the network. It was the best Syfy original movie in that demo since “Leprechaun’s Revenge” on March 17.

The Avengers hits $600 Million Domestically

The film shattered the opening weekend record with over $200 million in three days, and now Disney has announced that The Avengers is expected to cross the $600 million domestic mark today, making it only the third film in history to reach that number. Read more at Collider
